Spetisbury Walk

November 19, 2023 @ 10:00 - 17:00

Our Cruising section walk on Sunday 19th November is 9.30 for a 10.00 start and will be from the car park next to Spetisbury primary school (Postcode: DT11 9DF). Take the A350 to Blandford, go through Spetisbury village and turn left immediately past the school, which is on your left).

Janet Coward (Annie B) is leading the walk which is crammed full of interest and history. It is 4.5 miles and takes about 1.45 hours, there are no steep inclines, and just 2 short stretches of road, neither of which are busy.

We pass through the old railway station on the trail way, then field paths to a small special church with a hidden secrets that contains medieval wall paintings and two important graves.

The return walk to the car park takes us across streams, rivers and water meadows of the river Stour and past Keyneston Mill before going back to the car park next to Spetisbury primary school

Terrain – Old railway, track, path, road and field.

Lunch is booked at the Charlton Inn (Postcode: DT11 9NH) at 12.30 – which is just a 5 minute drive from the car park next to Spetisbury primary school. They do excellent Sunday roasts! Although dogs are welcome on the walk, they are not permitted in the dining area of the pub.

Please book early as we do need Numbers and Pub Menu choices by Tuesday 14th as they get very busy.

We’re afraid it’s now too late to book this walk and Pub Menu Choices, but please looked at the rest of our walks, we look forward to seeing you on them..
