DESCRIPTION:The RYA Diesel Engine course is an introductory course aimed at preventing breakdowns and solving basic problems at sea. Suitable for leisure boaters and those working on the water. \n\n\nThe course will cover:\nThe four stroke cycle\, fuel\, cooling and air systems\, engine electrical systems\, spares and tool requirements\, winterisation and servicing. \nThis course is being hosted by Dorset Marine Training\, and shall be run at the Yacht Club. \n\n\n\nInstructions\n\nThis is a full day’s course and shall be run from a classroom. SUMMARY:Tolpuddle Walk
DESCRIPTION:This will be an interesting walk around the village that saw the very start of the Trade Union movement where 6 farmers from Dorset\, later called The Tolpuddle Martyrs\, from the village of Tolpuddle in Dorset\, England\, were convicted of swearing a secret oath as members of the Friendly Society of Agricultural Labourers in 1834. \n  \nThe walk will start and finish at the Martyrs Inn where a meal has been booked. \nYou will need to book this walk\, along with your choice of menu so we can inform the Martyrs Inn of expected numbers. \nTo book your walk and lunch choices please click HERE

SUMMARY:RYA VHF SRC Marine Radio Course
DESCRIPTION:The RYA VHF / SRC Radio course is designed to give you the knowledge to use a marine VHF / SRC radio. It is followed by an exam which\, as long as you pass\, will give you a licence to operate a marine VHF radio. The licence is a legal requirement. \n\n\nThroughout the day you will get lots of practice using the radio talking to other people\, and will learn the following:\nHow to talk on the radio\nWhat the correct words to use are\nTo operate the functions and message settings\nTo use the radio to get help in emergencies\nWhat other equipment makes up the radio network and how it operates. \nThe course will run from 0900 – 1830. \n\n\n\nInstructions\n\nThe course can be intense\, so we ask all students to complete the pre course learning\, which is to be done before your course starts. Links to this are emailed to you after booking. \nTo complete the course and get your license you must pay an additional RYA Admin Fee of £70 (paid directly to the RYA).
