SUMMARY:Man Over Board (MOB) Casualty Recovery Training 3rd Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Cancelled due to Unforeseen Circumstances.\nWe hope to organise More Training in the Spring of 2024. \nPlease watch this website for MOB course updates.\nPYC Cruising Section – in conjunction with Poole Sailing\n\n\nOffers Man Over Board (MOB) Casualty Recovery Training \nObject of the event\nTo give Cruising Yacht skippers/owners the opportunity to have own boat on-board tuition with a professional trainer. \n  \n  \nNature of the event\nOn two days there will be provided 6-7 slots of 1 hour each day\, when the instructor will come on board and take the skipper and crew through the issues of MOB casualty recovery. PYC Cruising Section (PYCCS) will get the instructor to each boat at the allotted time. \nPYCCS will have a named Event Controller who will keep in touch with boats by radio and deliver/collect the instructor. \nParticipating vessels will need to be out of the Haven and in the vicinity of the Designated Location reasonably before the allotted time. \n  \nDate & times \n30th September & 1st October 2023 \nMorning\nSLOT A : 09.00 – 10.00\nSLOT B : 10.00 – 11.00\nSLOT C : 11.00 – 12.00 \nNB. – Handover times are incorporated\n12.00 – 13.00 Lunch break for the instructor \nAfternoon\nSLOT D : 13.00 – 14.00.  SLOT E : 14.00 – 15.00\nSLOT F : 15.00 – 16.00.   SLOT G : 16.00 – 17.00 \nPlease note: it is suggested that skippers keen to participate keep all dates free in their diaries as there is no guarantee provided as to which dates boats will be slotted in (see below).  \nBookings your Training Slots have been Cancelled\n \nCost per boat\nThere is a subsidised booking fee of £35.00 which will seek to cover most of our costs. It will\, however\, be very good value. \nEligibility to participate\nThe PYCCS Committee have decided that it should only be open in the first instance to skippers and boats registered with PYCCS. There are currently 93 vessels in this category so we anticipate filling all the slots. In the event of over subscription names will be drawn out of a hat by an independent person. Should this eventuality occur then PYCCS will endeavour to fit unsuccessful skippers onto participating vessels with the permission of those skippers if this is wanted.\nWe are open for applications for places on the course. \nAction in the case of inclement weather\nIn case of weather conditions which preclude the event from occurring\, Poole Sailing will provide a 4 hour safety at sea course held in the Academy. In consequence no refunds will be available. \nFurther information\nWhen you book and are accepted\, there will be an advisory note provided.\nSuccessful applicants will be informed of their slot and a ‘What skippers should provide on board’ advisory note which Poole Sailing are setting out. \n______________________________________________________________\nPlease note that Poole Sailing require all crew members to be wearing an automatic life jacket that is correctly adjusted and with a crotch strap in place. \n__________________________________________________________________________________ \n\nPlease address any queries at this stage to:\npyc.cruising.section@gmail.com \nProduced by the PYC Cruising Section on 06.03.2023
